NISSAN GT-R 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION
EXTERIOR
The 50th Anniversary Edition graphics package has a rich history of its own, drawing inspiration from the 1969 4-door 2000GT-R that won the JAF Grand Prix in its debut race. Becoming a coupe in 1971, the car obliterated the competition in Japan’s domestic touring races, winning 52 races in its first three years of competition. The distinctive colors and markings that struck fear in the hearts of the competition then will bring smiles of recognition among GT-R enthusiasts today.

6 Airbags
Nissan Advanced Airbag System includes dual-stage supplemental front airbags with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. The inflation rate of these dual-stage airbags adjusts depending on crash severity and seat belt usage.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
When it comes to tyre pressure, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) takes away the guesswork. Using an icon on your dash, the system notifies you when tyres aren’t properly inflated.
Vehicle Dynamic Control
Advanced Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system not only helps you maintain your steered path, in R-Mode, it actually sends more power to the appropriate wheels when it senses oversteer or understeer, helping you drive with superior power and control.
Traction Control System
All the power in the world is useless if you can’t get any grip. So when TCS senses drive-wheel spin, it responds by helping reduce throttle, which helps you both regain grip and maintain control.
Anti-lock braking system
In sudden-braking situations, ABS pumps the brakes quickly to help prevent wheel lockup and help you maintain control.
Electronic Brake Force Distribution
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) monitors weight distribution and adjusts rear brake force to compensate for added weight from passengers or cargo.
Multi-led headlights
To enhance visibility, the super-wide beam expand illumination toward the sides of the car. The headlights feature four LED units to create an extremely natural light, replicating daylight.
Nissan Intelligent Key
The Nissan Intelligent Key lets you tap a button on the door handle to lock and unlock your Nissan GT-R, while your keys stay in your pocket or purse. With the standard Push Button Ignition feature, you just get in, push the button, and go.

NISSAN GT-R PREMIUM MIDSHIP PLATFORM: In another break with convention, Nissan GT-R’s Premium Midship Platform places the engine farther back in the chassis for better handling. This unique layout also mounts the transmission with the transfer case in the rear of the Nissan GT-R, creating the world’s first independent rear transaxle for an All-Wheel Drive vehicle.
GT-R 3.8-L TWIN-TURBO V6 ENGINE: Nissan challenged convention at every point of the Nissan GT-R’s development. Instead of a large, heavy engine thirsty for fuel, the Nissan GT-R is powered by an ideally sized, twin-turbocharged 3.8-L V6 that produces a prodigious 550 hp and equally immense 632 nm of torque. Just as important as the engineering is the actual assembly, which is done by hand by a single master craftsman, whose signature you’ll find on a small but prominent plaque.
IHI TURBOCHARGER: An IHI turbocharger is mounted on each bank of the engine. The exhaust manifolds, inspired by racing technology, have optimised turbo flange attachment points, which allow for easier servicing and potential tuning, without touching the exhaust manifold. To ensure there is no turbo lag as torque rises, high-precision electronic controls are employed. For 2020, a new abradable seal housing derived from our GT3 racing program brings enhanced engine response at lower rpm.
CLOSED DECK AND LADDER FRAME ENGINE BLOCK DESIGN:
The cylinder block features a closed deck for strength. For added strength, a ladder frame structure was also adopted to give the crankshaft added support, important with the engine’s massive torque. Magnesium alloy was selected for the oil pan and rocker cover for its light weight and strength.
HANDFORMED TITANIUM EXHAUST: A titanium exhaust helps ensure proper cooling from the engine’s massive output. Notoriously difficult to work with, each exhaust is hand-built by a master craftsman, and is specifically designed for an individual vehicle. A new “burnished” finish to the exhaust tip gives the perfect look – of a high-performance vehicle that’s been enjoyed to the fullest.
GT-R AERODYNAMICS – PURE ALCHEMY: Relentless tuning of the GT-R’s aerodynamics creates an incredibly clean Coefficient of Drag of just 0.26 Cd. While you see a substantial, powerful supercar, to the wind, it punches through the air like a low-slung, mid-engine supercar. Pure aerodynamic alchemy.
6-SPEED DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION: The longer a shift takes, the less time power is being put to the ground. The GT-R’s sequential dual-clutch transmission can snap off lightning-quick gear changes in just 0.15 seconds when in R-Mode – almost as quickly as you can blink.
TWO CLUTCHES, NO CLUTCH PEDAL: The Nissan GT-R’s 6-speed dual-clutch transmission shifts incredibly quickly. How? Inside the transmission, there are separate clutches for the odd (1st, 3rd, 5th) and even (2nd, 4th, 6th) gears. When the car is in an odd-numbered gear, the adjacent even-numbered gear is “pre-selected” – ready to make the shift immediately. The transmission is so smart, it even “blips” the throttle on downshifts to match rpm.
FORGED ALUMINIUM WHEELS: The Nissan GT-R’s rigid forged aluminium 20″ wheels, manufactured by RAYS, utilise knurling inside the wheels to help keep the tyres from slipping around the wheels under heavy acceleration or braking. The wheels feature a machined finish, which provides a high-quality, high-performance look.
ADVANCED ALL-WHEEL DRIVE: When most supercars stay in the garage or make a hasty retreat, the Nissan GT-R powers through, with ATTESA ET-S, one of the most advanced All-Wheel Drive and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) systems ever used in a road car. Instead of the traditional 50/50 torque split between front and rear axles, the electronically controlled All-Wheel Drive system provides up to nearly 100% of available torque to the rear wheels, and can send up to 50% of torque to the front wheels. This provides the steering feel and response of a rear-wheel drive vehicle, while giving the added confidence that only AWD can offer. Additionally, VDC continuously monitors your steering and braking actions, senses any oversteer or understeer, and compensates by reducing engine speed and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels.
ON-THE-FLY SET-UP SWITCHES: Nissan GT-R’s easy-to-use 3-mode system is always ready. Three switches allow for on-the-fly adjustment of specific performance parameters for the transmission, suspension, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system: GT-R R MODE, GT-R NORMAL MODE and GT-R SPECIAL MODES
